Cooter Pond Park is an ideal spot for outdoor recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy a range of attractions ranging from hiking and picnicking to wildlife watching and fishing. There is plenty of shoreline along the ponds where birds, turtles, frogs and many other species abound. The park also has horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts and a playground. The Suncoast Trail is an impressive, nearly forty-mile stretch of trail that winds through swamps and forests and is open to various outdoor activities. It's a great spot for sightseeing, walking, bike riding--including the world-famous Good Neighbor Trail sections--and enjoying some breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico along the way. Additionally, there are multiple picnic areas complete with benches and grills throughout its length for visitors to enjoy a midday meal.
