Echo Park is a historical site located in Moffat County, Colorado. The area was once home to the Ute people, who used the natural resources of the park to sustain themselves. In the early 1800s, Echo Park was explored by white settlers, who began to homestead in the area. The park Eventually became a popular tourist destination, and it remains one of the most visited places in Colorado today. Echo Park is best known for its geological features, which include several canyons, cliffs, and rock formations. 

The first Europeans to visit the area were fur trappers, who began exploring the area in the early 1800s. In 1869, John Wesley Powell led an expedition down the Green River through Echo Park, which helped to map the area and open it up for settlement. In the early 1900s, the area became a popular tourist destination, and many people came to enjoy its natural beauty

Echo Park is a beautiful place to visit all year round, but the best time to plan your trip is during the summer months. From June to August, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for hiking, picnicking, and enjoying the great outdoors. Plus, Echo Park Lake comes alive during the summer, with boats and paddleboards available for rent. 

1. Start your visit at Echo Park Lake. This is a beautiful spot to take in the scenery and get a feel for the park. You can also rent paddle boats here and go for a peaceful paddle on the water.
2. Visit the Angelus Temple. This historic temple was built in 1923 and is an architectural masterpiece. The temple is open for tours Monday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
3.  See a show at the historic Orpheum Theatre. This theatre hosts a variety of shows, including concerts, Broadway productions, and more. Check their website for a schedule of upcoming events.
4. The best time to see the park's famous Cliff Palace is early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the sun is not directly overhead. During the middle of the day, the palace is often in shadow.

To reach Echo Park in Colorado, take Highway 34 west from Craig. After about 12 miles, you'll see the turnoff for Echo Park Road on the left. Follow Echo Park Road for approximately 2.5 miles until you reach the entrance to the park. Echo Park is located in a remote, natural setting, so be sure to come prepared for your visit. 

The Echo Park entrance fee is $20 per vehicle or $10 per person for pedestrians and cyclists. The fee covers the costs of maintaining the park, including trail maintenance, restroom cleaning, and trash removal. 

The Echo Park Library in Moffat County, Colorado is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The library is closed on Sundays.
