Holterberg - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

Nature Museum Holterberg is a nature museum and information center for the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. The museum consists of 11 life-size dioramas in which more than 1000 animals are exhibited in their natural position and living environment. Several restaurants are located near the museum. About 250 meters to the northeast is the Holten Canadian War Cemetery .

The Hellendoornse Berg is a 40 meter high hill in the Twents - Salland municipality of Hellendoorn in the Dutch province of Overijssel . The hill is named after the village of Hellendoorn, which is located just east of the top of the hill. Further west is Luttenberg. The hill is separated by the N35 from, among other things, the Haarlerberg and the Koningsbelt , located in the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park.

The Rijssens Leemspoor Foundation operates a museum railway in the Overijssel city of Rijssen . The museum tells the story of the narrow -gauge railway in the field of the brick industry in and around Rijssen. A century ago there were about 15 brick factories in Rijssen, of which four were still left in the 1960s. These had a narrow gauge railway from the beginning of the 20th century until 1964 to transport clay from the quarry to the factories.
