Reindersmeer

The Reindersmeer is a dug lake in the Limburg municipality of Bergen. It has been managed by the municipality of Bergen since 2001 and has been part of the Maasduinen Park ever since. To prevent the surrounding agricultural land from drying out, a lock has been constructed in the canal between the Reindersmeer and Leukermeer. At least 22,500 ships carrying sand and gravel have sailed through the canal.
