Noorderplantsoen is an urban public park in the city of Groningen in the Netherlands, situated slightly north of the city center. Every year a number of events take place in the Noorderplantsoen, of which the Noorderzon Theater Festival is well known. This cultural event takes place at the end of August and is visited by over 125,000 visitors. Noorderplantsoen is a park in the Dutch city of Groningen , enclosed by the Oranjewijk , Noorderplantsoenbuurt and Hortusbuurt. The park is located where the northwestern part of the city's defensive walls was built in the 17th century and was opened in 1880. The Prinsentuin is a garden built in renaissance style that is located in Groningen.  Behind the Prinsenhof,this Garden consists of a rose garden, a herb garden, a part with berceaus and a sundial on the wall above the entrance. On the side of the Turfsingel the garden is fenced of by a high wall. On one side you can still see a bit of the blu wall, that once stood optop of this wall.
