Kardinge is the name of a sports center, the Sportcentrum Kardinge , of a nature and recreation area Kardinge managed by Natuurmonumenten and of a transferium, P+R Kardinge. The Kardinge nature and recreation area alternates between forests, meadows, lakes and swamps, with opportunities to experience nature and for walking, rollerblading, running and swimming. The area functions as a neighborhood park for the surrounding city districts.

Oostersluis

The Oostersluis is the large lock between the Van Starkenborgh Canal and the Eems Canal , both CEMT-class Va. The lock is located on the east side of the city of Groningen , in the watershed between the basin of De Waterwolf and that of the Eemskanaal. The lock was built in the 1930s and rebuilt in the 1990s because it did not meet the requirements imposed on the lock in connection with the subsidence caused by gas extraction .

Through the forest is a path with large stones from 10 different countries, with the Ten Rights of the Child on it.
