The Museum Belvédère is a museum for modern and contemporary art in Heerenveen , province of Friesland. The collection mainly consists of works by Frisian artists and kindred spirits that are rarely shown in other public collections. These are artists such as Jan Mankes , Thijs Rinsema , Tames Oud , Gerrit Benner , Boele Bregman , Willem van Althuis and Sjoerd de Vries . The styles realism , impressionism , expressionism , constructivism and new figuration are represented in the museum.

The Belvedere of Oranjewoud is a belvedere in the Oranjewoud Park area east of Heerenveen. The octagonal watchtower has nine staircases of twelve steps and a height of eighteen meters. Adding the height of the knoll, the eye level of a person on the tower is almost thirty meters above ground level . This tower also fell into disrepair, but instead of demolition, the belvedere was restored after seventy years.

De Deelen is a vast complex of peat bogs in the lower middle of the Dutch province of Friesland , in the municipalities of Heerenveen and De Friese Meren. The Deelen consists of reed beds , draft holes with a relatively large amount of open water, thickets and grasslands. The lower middle of Friesland largely consisted of low peat swamps, which stretched south to the swamps of Northwest Overijssel.

Museum Joure is a museum in Joure in the Dutch province of Friesland . The museum presents itself as a 'museum of making' and shows four clusters of collections: Douwe Egberts / coffee and tea, Frisian clocks, printing and metal. The museum is supported by the Friends of Museum Joure association.

The Tjeukemeer is the largest inland waterway of the Dutch province of Friesland . It is located in the Zuidwesthoek in the municipality of De Friese Meren , on the border of the former municipalities of Lemsterland and Skarsterlân .It used to be just a shallow lake with no special tourist attractions. In 1957 several provinces began to cooperate under the name of Marrekrite with the aim of developing the area for tourism. Shoals were eliminated, and in 2000 two artificial islands were created.
