This is an art and history museum in Assen, Drenthe, in the Netherlands. It has a large permanent collection of prehistoric artifacts from the province of Drenthe. It includes exhibits of bog bodies such as the Yde Girl,the Weerdinge Men, Exloërmond Man, and the Emmer-Erscheidenveen Man. There are finds from the Funnelbeaker culture, and the collection also includes the oldest recovered canoe in the world, the Pesse canoe, that dates between 8200 and 7600 BC.

The TT Circuit Assen is a motorsport race track built in 1955 and located in Assen, Netherlands. It is popularly referred to as "The Cathedral" of motorcycling by the fans of the sport. The venue has the distinction of holding the most Grand Prix motorcycle races every year except 2020) since the series was created in 1949. It has a capacity of 110,000 spectators, including 60,000 seats. Since 1992, the circuit has also been part of the World SBK calendar except the 2020 season.

Dolmen D18 is located in the vicinity of Rolde in the Dutch province of Drenthe.The dolmen is located northeast of Rolde in the vicinity of the cemetery and the Sint-Jacobskerk. Memorial Center Kamp Westerbork is a museum where the history of Camp Westerbork is told.The museum is located on the Oosthalen road , about three kilometers from the former camp site. Due to radio telescopes , no motorized traffic and buildings are allowed at the former camp site. A shuttle bus runs between the visitor center and the camp site and an educational walking route has been installed between the sites.

Gasterse Duinen is a nature reserve in Gasteren that consists of sand ridges and wet peat bogs . The area was formed in the Pleistocene by land ice, meltwater, snow storms and rivers. The nature reserve falls under the Drentsche Aa area , a Natura 2000 area. The Pieterpad runs through the area .

The C+B Museum is a museum about the former blues band Cuby + Blizzards . It is located in Grolloo , Drenthe .The museum was opened on June 1, 2011 in the farm on the Voorstreek where lead singer Harry Muskee , aka 'Cuby', lived from 1965 to 1971. Muskee himself witnessed the opening of the museum; a few months later he died of cancer . In the fifth year of his death, lines of text from the songs Appleknockers flophouse and Window of my eyes were applied to the Voorstreek in Grolloo.

Diependal is a wetland nature reserve in Central Drenthe . It is managed by the Drenthe Landscape . The area borders the Hijkerveld near the village of Oranje . Not far from Diependal is the Fochteloërveen . Diependal is 1000 hectares in size. There is a bird hide in Diependal . The red-necked grebe can sometimes be seen from this hut. There is a long tunnel of 160 meters long, at the end of which is the hut. There is a booklet available in which observations can be noted.

This is a reclamation forest on old heathlands. You will find larch and spruce, heather and fens. In this area you can enjoy cycling and walking. However, the forest is best known for the former Camp Westerbork, from which many Jews were deported during the Second World War

National Park Drentsche Aa is a national park of the Netherlands, which consists of the cultural landscape surrounding the valley of the small river the Drentsche Aa. The landscape is currently nearly the same as it was in the mid 19th century, as the several agricultural landscape reforms of the 20th century were not implemented in this area.

The Boswachterij Gieten-Borger is a forestry of Staatsbosbeheer in the Dutch municipalities of Aa and Hunze and Borger-Odoorn in the province of Drenthe. The Gieten-Borger forestry is approximately 2,900 hectares and was built around 1922 as part of the job creation scheme . Before that time, a vast moorland landscape lay here . First the northern part of the forestry was constructed and then the southern part.

The Gasselterveld is a recreation area in the middle of the Hondsrug in Drenthe. You will find the swimming pond 't Nije Hemelriek and the swimming lake the Gasselterveld. Improbably blue water, forest views and a dazzling white beach. A wonderful place where you can swim and sunbathe!

The Strubben-Kniphorstbosch is a nature reserve between Anloo and Schipborg. The 377 hectare area owes its name to the 'stubby' oaks and to Gerrit Kniphorst, who was the owner in the 19th century. You will find various traces of prehistoric times here, including two dolmens and no fewer than 60 burial mounds.

't Nije Hemelriek is a recreational lake near Gasselte in the Gieten-Borger forestry in the Dutch municipality of Aa en Hunz. Just west of the recreational lake is a large sand extraction area with a deep pond. Coarse sand was extracted for construction in the sand extraction area. On the north side of this lake is a large recreational beach.

De Wachter is a smock mill in Zuidlaren, Drenthe, which has been restored to working order. The mill was built in 1851 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 41064. It comprises also a clog workshop, bakery and grocery shop, smithy and you can take a cruise on a steam-powered boat.

The Noordlaarderbos is a kind of fairytale forest with a rich past. For example, you will find burial mounds here. The old burial mounds in the Noordlaarderbos date back to far before the Middle Ages. They are at least 2500 years old. They have lost their original shape due to burrowing humans and animals.The forest is especially popular with holidaymakers for walking on weekends. Natuurmonumenten has set out several walking routes through the forest.

Hunebed G1 is located southwest of Noordlaren in the Dutch province of Groningen . The hunebed is located on a hill in a bush, which can be reached from Noordlaren via a dirt road. Within the Netherlands, the hunebed is the most northern of the hunebeds still located on the original site, and also the only Groningen hunebed still on the original site. The hunebed was archaeologically examined in 1957 under the supervision of Van Giffen.
