The Keltenmuseum in Hallein near Salzburg was founded in 1882 and was housed in the Bürgerspital and it contains major discoveries from the La Tene period of the Iron Age which come from burials in the area surrounding the nearby Hallein Salt Mine, at Dürrnberg.

Kleiner(Small) Barmstein and the nearby Großer(Great) Barmstein are two rock towers in the border of Austria and Germany, raising above the Austrian town of Hallein. They are each about 841 and 851 meters above sea level. Both the rock pinnacles are popular with climbers and also be climbed using rock steps with railings and secured cables.
