About Nockstein
The Nockstein is a popular hiking destination at a height of 1042 meters. The rock formation ranges up about 300 m. From the summit is a fantastic view to the Flachgau and into the Salzkammergut. It consists of limestone and belongs to the northern limestone Alps . The mountain in the Flachgau municipality of Koppl has been used more and more since the second half of the 19th century.
