About Pasterze Glacier

Pasterze Glacier is a typical valley glacier located at the foot of Austria's highest summit. It starts at the Johannisberg mountain that has a peak 3,463 metres high, and ends at approximately a height of 2,100 metres above sea level. Today it is part of the High Tauern National Park. The Pasterze is a major tourist destination, accessible via the scenic Grossglockner High Alpine Road and a funicular railway that leads down to its margin.
