About Beeston Castle
Beeston was originally built as a bastion of power for the Earl Ranulf of Chester. As it’s a little-out-of the way, it was never a site of significant historical importance, but it’s steeped in persistent rumor – persuasive legends tell of the buried treasure of Richard II, who hid bags of gold somewhere on-site.
