About Lago di Provvidenza

The Provvidenza lake is an artificial lake located along the state road 80 of the Gran Sasso d'Italia, in the territory of the municipality of L'Aquila, near the Ortolano hamlet of the municipality of Campotosto, built by blocking the course of the Vomano river with a 52.2 m high dam. It is part of the mountainous massif of the Gran Sasso d'Italia and falls within the homonymous park.
