About Deoghar
Deogarh district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state in eastern India, and Deoghar town is the administrative headquarters of this district. This district is known for the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga shrine. This district is part of Santhal Pargana division. Deoghar is a Hindi word and the literal meaning of ‘Deoghar’ is abode of the Gods and Goddesses.

Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples.

The name of the temple is derived from the amount spent in its construction, which was donated by Rani Charushila, a queen of Pathuria Ghat royal family, Kolkata. Making the total cost of around nine lakh rupees, the temple received its name as Naulakha.
