Mayurakshi River is a major river in Jharkhand and West Bengal, India, with a long history of devastating floods. Topchanchi Lake is an interesting tourist spot in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. Situated on the National Highway 2, it is located at the Golden Quadrilateral. Dhanbad Railway Station is 37 km from the lake and Bokaro is 41 km. Though the lake is an artificial one, its green surrounding amidst forests and hills makes it an ideal picnic spot. It is also in demand for sound and serene vacations. It covers a total area of 214 acres.
