Jharkhand which came into being on 15 November 2000 as the 28th State of the Union is the homeland of the tribals who had dreamed of a separate state for a long time. Ram Rekha Dham is a holy place located 28 km from Simdega in Ranchi. As per legends Lord Ram, Sitadevi and Lord Laxman stayed here for some days during their fourteen years' exile. This temple in a picturesque spot on a hill attracts many tourists. The temple inside a bowed cave has the idols of Lord Ram, Sitadevi, Lord Laxman, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva.
