This sanctuary has been set up primarily with the object of conserving the musk deer (Moschus leucogaster) and its habitat. Intensive efforts have been initiated to conserve this rare species. Other mammals found in this sanctuary include the Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, Himalayan jungle cat, civet, barking deer, serow, goral and Himalayan brown bear. Many species of high altitude birds are also found in this sanctuary.

Gangolihat is a small Himalayan hill town in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India. It is tehsil and sub divisional headquarters of the district. Gangolihat is known for its Shakti Peethas of Hat Kalika of goddess Kali.[1] Nearby at 12km'Patal Bhubneshwar', caves are major tourist attraction. Also nearby are the tiny hill stations of Chaukori and Berinag.From Gangolihat Panchchuli peaks and Nanda Devi are clearly visible.

Mt. Kailash, the striking peak standing in the remote south-west corner of Tibet in the Himalayan Mountains. Rising at an elevation of 6638 m (21778 ft) it is one of the highest parts of the Himalayas and serves as a source of some of the longest rivers in Asia. Known as Gang Tise or Gang Rinproche in Tibet [Mount Kailash Parvat] an it is a precious and prominent symmetrical peak.

Narayan Ashram is situated at an elevation of 2734 metres in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. This hermitage was established by Narayan Swami in 1936.

Patal Bhuvaneshwar Cave Temple

Patal bhuvaneswar is a limestone cave temple 14 km from Gangolihat in the Pithoragarh district . Limestone rock formations have created various spectacular stalactite and stalagmite figures of various hues and forms. This cave has a narrow tunnel-like opening which leads to a number of caves. The cave is fully electrically illuminated. Built by the flow of water, Patal Bhuvaneshwar is not just one cave, rather a series of caves within caves.

Naini Saini Airport is situated in a beautiful city of Kumon called Pithoragarh. This airport is also known as Pithoragarh airport or Pithoragarh Airstrip. Currently goverment of Uttarakhand is operating this airport and is planning to upgrade it to Category 2C airport under Visual flight rules.
