Double Root Bridge

Root bridges are handmade from the aerial roots of rubber fig trees (Ficus elastica) by the Khasi and Jaintia peoples of the mountainous terrain along the southern part of the Shillong Plateau. They take around fifteen years to fully develop. While most of the living root bridges are single decked, this one here is special- with two decks.

Someshwari River

known as Simsang River in the Indian state of Meghalaya, is a major river in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya and Netrakona District of Bangladesh. It divides the Garo Hills into two parts.

Umiam Lake

Also known as Barapani. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Ri bhoi district. offers watersports facilities including sailing, water skiing, water scooter, etc. This lake was created by damming the umiam river in the early 1960s.

One of the most popular attractions of Shillong, Ward’s lake is a must-visit place when in this pristine north-eastern city. Also known as Pollock’s Lake, this artificial water body is encircled by an extensive lush garden and lies in the middle of the city.
