Zoos to explore in Selangor
The state of Selangor has the largest economy in Malaysia in terms of GDP, with roughly US$55.5 billion in 2015, comprising 22.6% of the country's GDP. It is the most developed state in Malaysia and has the largest population in Malaysia.
It was officially opened on 14 November 1963 by the country's first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman. Zoo Negara covers 110 acres of land which is situated only 5km from the city of Kuala Lumpur. It is an open concept zoo with over 90% of its animals being kept in spacious exhibits with landscape befitting its nature.
