Pacifica State Beach

Pacifica State Beach is the southernmost of Pacifica, California's large beaches. It is a 0.75-mile-long crescent-shaped beach located at the mouth of the San Pedro Valley. It is one of the most popular beginner surfing spots in the San Francisco area. Pacifica State Beach provides habitat for the western snowy plover, a shorebird which is designated as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.

PIER 39—the most visited destination in San Francisco offers two levels of dining, entertainment, shopping and attractions, all surrounded by unbeatable views of the city and the Bay. A two-story carousel is one of the pier's more dominant features, although it is not directly visible from the street and sits towards the end of the pier. The family-oriented entertainment and presence of marine mammals make this a popular tourist location for families with kids.

Point Bonita Lighthouse

Point Bonita Lighthouse is out on the rocky point on the north side of the entrance to San Francisco Bay.The light is still actively used to warn approaching ships, but during the day the anyone can visit and walk around the outside of it. The lighthouse is accessible to the public during limited hours on Sundays and Mondays, as well as on ranger-led interpretive sunset hikes, which requires a sign-up. Access to the bridge is barred at other times by a metal door on the shore end of the tunnel.

Rodeo Beach

Rodeo Beach is a wide pebble beach on the sand spit that separates Rodeo Lagoon from Rodeo Cove on the west side of the Marin Headlands in Golden Gate. This beach is unique among California beaches in that it is largely made up of coarse, pebbly chert grains, both red and green in color. The beach features free entrance, free parking, wheelchair-accessible public restrooms, showers, and picnic tables. Dogs are allowed.

The Sutro Baths was a large, privately owned public saltwater swimming pool complex in the Lands End area of the Outer Richmond District. The structure was situated in a small beach inlet below the Cliff House, also owned by Adolph Sutro at the time. Both the Cliff House and the former baths site are now a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, operated by the United States National Park Service.
