Dausa is named after a hill near the city that was called Devgiri. On the top of the hill is situated a fort, built by Badgujar kings, who were the original rulers of this area. Later, Dausa was given by Chauhans to Kachwan.

The Mehandipur Balaji Temple is a Hindu shrine located in the Dausa district of Rajasthan. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman whose another popular name is Balaji. This religious site is visited by many pilgrims from different parts of the country all round the year. In front of the Balaji Mandir there is a temple dedicated to Shree Siyaram Bhagvan which has a beautiful idol of Siyaram built inside it.

Harshad Mata Temple Dausa

The temple is situated in Abhaneri village in Dausa district of Rajasthan. There is a mandap inside the temple which is built on pillars in a sanctum style scheme. The outer walls of the temple have Brahman bhadra niches and images of gods carved on them. There are fine sculptures that can be found in the upper shiver of the temple.

Peetaliya Balaji Temple

Also known as Balaji ka Nagla. This is the main temple in this village of Hanuman.
