Mudgal fort is an ancient fort located in the Raichur district. The place is well known for its historical heritage and communal harmony and so many historical inscriptions.

A fortress located on a hilltop in the heart of Raichur which came into existence from the time of Chalukyas. The fort was built by the Kakatiya rulers in 1294 AD. It is surrounded by double rows of massive low circuit walls on its three sides and is built on an 88 m high hill.
