Angel Lake

A glacial tarn with an area of approximately 13 acres (5.2 hectares), and a depth of up to 29 feet (9 m). Located at the base of a steep cirque, the lake is surrounded by high cliffs.

Barker Dam

A water storage facility constructed by early cattlemen, including CO Barker, in 1900. It is a gathering place for desert wildlife, including many species of birds and Desert Bighorn Sheep. Native American petroglyphs can be seen on the rocks present in the trail to the dam.

Cholla Cactus Garden

An intense concentration of cholla cactus. The small hike is through level plains, a mile in total on a loop.

Harmony Borax Works

An abandoned borax mine. They became famous through the use of large twenty-mule teams and double wagons which hauled borax through the long overland route to the closest railroad in Mojave, California.

Hollywood Sign

American landmark and cultural icon overlooking Hollywood. "HOLLYWOOD" is spelled out in 45-foot (13.7 m) tall white capital letters and is 350 feet (106.7 m) long. Visitors can hike to the sign.

Hopi Point

Located just two miles from the famous Bright Angel Trailhead, Hopi Point is routinely one of the most visited stops along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Here you will be able to see numerous iconic rock formations in the distance, as well as a variety of bodies of water rushing on the floor of the canyon below.

Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is where the Colorado River makes a giant sweeping horseshoe shaped bend in the canyon. It is accessible via hiking a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) round trip from a parking area just off U.S. Route 89 within southwestern Page.

Mastodon Peak

Hiking trail through an old mine, three mile hike to the peak offers panoramic views of south eastern side of Joshua Tree National Park.

Paris Mountain State Park

San Gorgonio Mountain

This is the highest peak in Southern California which was in the San Bernardino Mountains. It is one of the most topographically prominent peaks in the United States. The mountain has a pyramid shape, with a steep north face and a slightly shallower south face.

Ubehebe Craters

A volcanic field in northern Death Valley, consisting of 14-16 craters in a 3-square-kilometre (1.2 sq mi) area. The Ubehebe Craters are associated with a fault system that runs across them, all formed in a single phreatomagmatic eruption episode about 2,100 years ago.
