Tybee Island Lighthouse

The Tybee Island Lighthouse has been standing guard since 1736. Located near the mouth of the Savannah River, it has been guiding ships and seafarers through the turbulent navigation of the tidal waters below for centuries. Standing at 147ft tall, and today stands proud as a major source of tourism in Southeast Georgia. Its beacon can be seen up to 18 miles out at sea and provides navigational aid to sailors all over the world.
