This is an anthropologically significant mountain pass that sits roughly 5 miles east of Winter Park, Colorado. The pass is located on and traverses the Continental Divide of the Americas at the crest of the Front Range southwest of Boulder and is located approximately five miles east and opposite the resort in Winter Park—in the general area between Winter Park and Rollinsville.The pass’s rich history and frequent use make it known as “one of the most endangered sites in Colorado.”

Royal Arch is a stunning rock formation located 1.2 miles from downtown Boulder. It is a heavily trafficked, classic Boulder trail that leads to a natural stone arch with great views of Boulder and the Flatirons.The trail starts near the Bluebell Shelter and goes up, passing the base of the Third Flatiron. Bears and mountain lions live in the area, so know what to do if you encounter one.

Saint Catherine's Chapel on the Rock

This is a nearly 100-year-old functioning Catholic church built atop a riveting rock formation. It is operated by the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver and remains an important fixture in Colorado history. The chapel is located on the grounds of the Saint Malo Retreat, Conference, and Spiritual Center of the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver. The chapel is open to the public.

St Vrain Mountain straddles the border between the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and Rocky Mountain National Park. It stands just east of the Continental Divide with beautiful wide views across the Middle St Vrain Creek drainage and Wild Basin Area of RMNP. The Wild Basin area in RMNP to the north is home to some of the parks most famous peaks, including Chief's Head, Pagoda, Meeker and the best known, Long's.

Several picnic tables are available here and there is a covered picnic pavilion. If planning to fish, a valid CPW fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older.

South Arapaho Peak is in the Indian Peaks Wilderness in the northern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. It also holds claim to being the highest summit on the Continental Divide north of Denver. The easier of the two climbs is certainly South Arapaho Peak, which has the added bonus of getting better views of the glacier and North Arapaho Peak. There are several ways to summit South Arapaho Peak, but the longest route and arguably the most scenic is the Arapaho Glacier.

South Boulder Creek is a tributary of Boulder Creek in central Colorado in the United States. Its source is near Rogers Pass on the Continental Divide. The stream flows to a confluence with Boulder Creek in northeast Boulder. Gross Dam is located on South Boulder Creek, approximately 4+1⁄2 miles west of Eldorado Springs, Colorado.

This hiking area is known for its historic homestead vestiges and a landscape that’s a pleasing mix of rolling meadows and hilly pine forests, loaded with wildflowers and birds.

The Switzerland Trail is an old railroad grade that zigzags across the mountains of Boulder County.Begin your adventure at either end. In the south, the trail starts below the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain off the road of the same name. From here it winds along a relatively level grade, gradually descending to Fourmile Canyon Drive, along Fourmile Creek. Regardless, the trail is popular with mountain bikers, ATVs and 4X4s, so whatever your mode of travel, be considerate of other trail users.

This lake sits amidst farmland utilized for livestock grazing, crop production, and even beekeeping. The water sometimes attracts interesting waterbirds and Dickcissel has at times bred in the fields to the south. Lark Bunting and Blue Grosbeak have also been spotted here. It has a dirt and gravel trail that has two trailheads. This flat and easy trail cuts through prairie and farmland.

The People's Crossing

The Peoples' Crossing is a park in Colorado located on Pearl Street. The Peoples' Crossing Trailhead provides access to the network of Red Rocks Trails. These trails climb up into ochre-colored sandstone spires and formations. From the summit, you'll have a beautiful view of the city of Boulder below.
