Mohave County

Mohave County is in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Arizona. It contains parts of Grand Canyon National Park and Lake Mead National Recreation Area and all of the Grand Canyon–Parashant National Monument. The Kaibab, Fort Mojave and Hualapai Indian Reservations also lie within the county.

Arizona Hot Spring Trailhead

A beautiful trail located along the Colorado River just south of the Hoover Dam. Tucked away inside a colorful slot canyon, these hot springs offer a beautiful environment to enjoy a nice long soak.

Arizona State Route 66

A surface road in the U.S. state of Arizona in Mohave and Coconino Counties. In 1914, the road was designated "National Old Trails Highway" but in 1926 was re-designated as U.S. Route 66. In 1985, U.S. Route 66 was dropped from the highway system. Parts of the highway were either absorbed into I-40, turned over to the state , or turned over to Yavapai County.

Black Canyon

The Black Canyon of the Colorado is the canyon on the Colorado River where Hoover Dam was built. The canyon is located on the Colorado River at the state line between Nevada and Arizona. The western wall of the gorge is in the El Dorado Mountains, and the eastern wall is in the Black Mountains of Arizona. The canyon formed about 15 million years ago during the Miocene Basin and Range uplift. Black Canyon gets its name from the black volcanic rocks that are found throughout the area.

Cattail Cove State Park

A beautiful state park located in the shore of Lake Havasu. It offers a beach , boat ramp, and 61 campsites and so more. There are also boat-in campsites along the lake shoreline within the park. The park offers a 4-lane launch ramp and a beautiful white sandy beach with a swim area.

Grand Canyon National Park

A vast scenic area, which encompasses canyons, river tributaries, and surrounding grounds. The Grand Canyon is situated in Arizona's northwestern quadrant.The park, which covers 1,217,262 acres of unincorporated area in Coconino and Mohave counties, received more than six million recreational visitors in 2017, which is the second highest count of all American national parks after Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Grand Canyon Skywalk

Grand Canyon Skywalk is an observation deck, free cantilever girder bridge and steel bridge that was completed in 2007.The deck of the Skywalk has been made with four layers of Saint-Gobain Diamant low iron glass with DuPont SentryGlas interlayer. Deck width is 10 feet 2 inches. It is immediately north of Grand Canyon West Airport and about 120-mile east of Las Vegas, NV. The skywalk is east of Meadview, AZ. Kingman, AZ is the closest city with more than 10,000 population.

Grapevine Mesa

The Grapevine Mesa Joshua Trees forest was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1967. 3,206 acres owned by the Federal government, the forest contains the best existing display of Joshua trees in the United States. This site is also a superb example Mojave Desert ecology.

Katherine Landing

Katherine Landing is a full-service marina featuring a full hook-up RV park, campground, boat and equipment rentals, boat slips, launch ramp, picnic area, marina, dry storage, café, general store and other resort amenities. Boat rentals range from personal watercraft to 16-foot fishing boats, 20-foot runabouts for waterskiing and exploring, and 28-foot patio boats that hold up to 10 people.

The sanctuary is currently home to over 150 exotic and indigenous wild animals that were rescued, surrendered by an owner, or placed with us by other animal welfare agencies. Animals placed at Keepers of the Wild can depend on a safe and life-long home. Keepers of the Wild has a strict "No Breeding" policy with a special focus on advocacy, education, and protection.

Lake Havasu State Park

This is an ideal place to enjoy beautiful beaches, nature trails, boat ramps, and convenient campsites. It is located on the shores of Lake Havasu, and features clean white sand beaches and a large grassy area. Picnic tables, grills and shade covers make this the perfect site to spend the day. The park offers panoramic views of the lake and mountains beyond.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a U.S. national recreation area in southeastern Nevada and northwestern Arizona. Lake Mead NRA follows the Colorado River corridor from the westernmost boundary of Grand Canyon National Park to just north of the cities of Laughlin, Nevada and Bullhead City, Arizona. It includes all of the eponymous Lake Mead as well as the smaller Lake Mohave – reservoirs on the river created by Hoover Dam and Davis Dam.

Liberty Bell Arch

Liberty Bell Arch is located in a very accessible region of the park. It is so named for it's resemblance to the famous Liberty Bell, at Independence National Historic Park in Pennsylvania. It even includes the "clapper", or the round part of the bell that causes it to ring.Over millions of years nature formed this geologic structure that is more commonly found in Arches National Monument.

Monolith Garden Trail

The Monolith Garden Trail is open to hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and trail runners. This series of loop trails about 9 miles/14.4km in length, meanders through Mohave Desert vegetation and interesting volcanic rock formations.

Mount Nutt Wilderness

Mount Nutt Wilderness is home to more than 100 desert bighorn sheep and burro. The desert is also home to several species of lizards, birds, and small mammals. This desert wilderness sits among a maze of desert canyons and steep mesas, surrounded by volcanic plugs.

Paiute Wilderness

The 87,900 acres of the Paiute Wilderness are in extreme northwest Arizona, surrounding the Virgin Mountains. The wilderness is administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The southern section of the wilderness lies within Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, and is also managed by the BLM. Directly to the north, separated by Interstate Highway 15, lies the Beaver Dam Mountains Wilderness.

Topock Gorge

Topock Gorge is a mountainous canyon and gorge section of the Colorado River located between Interstate 40 and Lake Havasu. The natural landmarks and river crossing by them were one of the journey markers for travelers on historic Route 66. It is within the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. It features natural habitat, wildlife, scenic preservation, and archeology. Mojave people Indian petroglyphs are in the Gorge.

Toroweap Overlook

A spectacular overlook, from which you can view the canyon and several volcanic ash mounds and lava flowing from a close position. It is protruding peak 2887 ft above the Colorado River, and it is from here that the Grand Canyon’s most beautiful photographs are taken.The overlook is the only viewpoint in the National Park from where the Colorado River can be seen vertically below.The short Saddle Horse Loop Trail allows access to more viewpoints near the overlook.

Toroweap Point

This is is a viewpoint within the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, United States. It is located in a remote area on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, 55 miles west of the North Rim Headquarters. The overlook is the only viewpoint in the National Park from where the Colorado River can be seen vertically below. The overlook stands 3,000 feet above the river.

Tuckup Canyon trail

The Tuckup Trail is a 100-mile-long hiking trail on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, in Grand Canyon National Park, located in the U.S. state of Arizona.It extends from Toroweap Point, to 150 Mile Canyon on the Esplanade Sandstone member of the Supai formation. It originated as a cattle trail and many cowboy camps can be found along its extent. It has few reliable water sources, Schmutz Spring at the head of Tuckup Canyon being one of them.

Uinkaret volcanic field

The Uinkaret volcanic field is an area of monogenetic volcanoes in northwestern Arizona, United States, located on the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
