EngbertsdijksvenenThe Engbertsdijksvenen is a state natural monument in the municipality of Twenterand in Overijssel , near Kloosterhaar east of Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk near the German border. There are extensive peat areas with heathlands and fens. It is a remnant of the large peat swamp that once covered the northeast of the Netherlands.The area is part of the European network of protected natural areas: Natura 2000 .
