It is a popular tourist destination and the site of the famous WWII battle in 1944. As a result of the conflict, the city center was destroyed. Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery

The Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery and Memorial is located about three kilometres north of the village of Groesbeek, Netherlands. The cemetery contains 2,338 Canadian soldiers of World War II. It was built to a design by Commission architect Philip Hepworth. The memorial consists of twin colonnaded buildings which face each other across the grass forecourt of the cemetery, between the entrance and the "Stone of Remembrance."

Lancaster Memorial

A majestic memorial that commemorates the crew of the British Avro Lancaster LM325 SR-J that crashed on the spot during the night of 22 to 23 June 1943 in World War II. The bomber belonged to the No. 101 Squadron of the RAF. Six of the seven crew lost their lives.
