It recreates traditional Irish thatched cottages and the lives of their inhabitants, and its founder was largely responsible for the resuscitation of the Kerry bog pony as a viable breed. The museum is located between the towns of Killorglin and Glenbeigh. Its structures were built using authentic 18th century construction techniques
