Perth and Kinross

Perth and Kinross is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland and a Lieutenancy Area. It borders onto the Aberdeenshire, Angus, Argyll and Bute, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, Fife, Highland and Stirling council areas. Perth is the administrative centre. With the exception of a large area of south-western Perthshire, the council area mostly corresponds to the historic counties of Perthshire and Kinross-shire.

Meigle Museum

The Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum is a permanent exhibition of 27 carved Pictish stones in the centre of the village of Meigle in eastern Scotland. It has an impressive collection of Pictish carved sculpture including cross slabs, recumbent gravestones, rare architectural fragments and a hogback stone. The museum backs onto the graveyard where most of the stones were found.

Perth Museum & Art Gallery

One of the Scotland's oldest established museums and is home to more than half a million local, national and international objects. The museum collection includes the South Corston fragment of the Strathmore meteorite and the mummy of a woman named Ta-kr-hb.
