Northumberland Park is a sheltered Dene formed by the Pow Burn as it flows from its source near Preston Village and runs down to enter the River Tyne at the Fish Quay. It is situated between two conservation areas - Tynemouth Village and North Shields Fish Quay which have recently been incorporated within the Tynemouth Conservation area. The park is bordered by King Edward Road to the north and Tynemouth Road to the south on which are situated the main entrances.

The Ouseburn is a small river in Tyne and Wear, England that flows through the city of Newcastle upon Tyne into the River Tyne. It gives its name to the Ouseburn electoral ward. The Ouseburn has its source at Callerton in the north of the city near Newcastle Airport. It then flows through the Kingston Park area of the city, Newcastle Great Park, Gosforth Park and Whitebridge Park.

Roker Park is a recreation park in the Roker area of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England. The park is roughly an upside down reversed 'L' shape. It is bounded by Park Parade to the south, Roker Park Terrace to the east, Roker Park Road to the west and Side Cliff Road to the north. The northern part of the park is the widest and fronts onto Roker beach via a ravine, which passes under a wooden footbridge.

The Ryhope Engines Museum is a visitor attraction in the Ryhope suburb of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England.The Grade II* listed building is the most visited man-made landmark in Ryhope and is based at The Ryhope Pumping Station, operational for 100 years before closing in 1967. The museum also contains three 1908 Lancashire boilers , a blacksmith's forge, a waterwheel, numerous steam engines and pumps, a replica plumber's shop, and many items associated with waterworks.

Segedunum was a Roman fort at modern-day Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, England, UK. The fort lay at the eastern end of Hadrian's Wall near the banks of the River Tyne, forming the easternmost portion of the wall. It was in use as a garrison for approximately 300 years, from around 122 AD, almost up to 400AD. Today, Segedunum is the most thoroughly excavated fort along Hadrian's Wall, and is operated as Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths and Museum.

Seven Stories is the National Centre for Children’s Books, located at 30 Lime Street in Ouseburn, Newcastle. Seven Stories is a charity, founded in 1996 by Elizabeth Hammill OBE and Mary Briggs OBE, to collect, champion and celebrate its children’s literature. It is the first and only museum in the UK wholly to the art of British children's books. Their archive is housed in a separate building in Felling.

Spanish City is a very impressive domed building which dominates the landscape of Whitley Bay Seafront and promenade. Erected as a smaller version of Blackpool's Pleasure Beach, it opened in 1910 as a concert hall, restaurant, roof garden and tearoom. A ballroom was added in 1920 and later a permanent funfair. There are towers on either side of the entrance, each of which carries a half-life-size female bacchanalian figure in copper, one holding cymbals, the other a tambourine.
