The Guildhall Museum is a fun place where visitors can discover the history of Rochester and Medway in a museum for all the family. The museum was founded in 1897, in honor of Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee. The collection includes artifacts associated with Rochester from prehistoric times to the present day. Works of art in the museum include a painting by Hendrik Frans van Lint depicting a classical Italian landscape.

Thornton Reservoir lies in a quiet, picturesque valley and was opened to the public in 1997. A surfaced track allows you to walk all the way around the reservoir and to the woodland on the north shore. The trout fishery is open to the public and the water is home to a variety of wildfowl. The reservoir is fed by two small streams which enter from the north via two weirs. Rothley Brook takes water away from the south.

Tropical Birdland in the north of the village of Desford, Leicestershire, England was set in 5 acres of natural woodland with walk-through aviaries, baby bird viewing room, over 70 species including toucans, emus, owls, macaws and parrots. Twycross Zoo is a medium to large zoo near Norton Juxta Twycross, Leicestershire. It was now renowned as a World Primate Centre and has a wide variety of monkeys and apes including the UK's only group of bonobos. It has around 500 animals of almost 150 species, including many endangered species. Renowned as a specialist primate zoo, it is the only zoo in the UK to exhibit all four types of great ape: gorilla, orangutan, chimpanzee and bonobo, the latter being the only bonobos in the country.

The University of Leicester Harold Martin Botanic Garden is a botanic garden close to the halls of residence for the University of Leicester in Oadby, Leicestershire, England. Founded in 1921, the garden was established on the present 16-acre site in 1947. The garden is used for research and teaching purposes by the university's Genetics Department and features events such as sculpture and art exhibitions, music performances and plant sales. It is open to the public.

A beautiful and fine green space next to the University of Leicester campus. The centrepiece of the park is the magnificent memorial arch, built to commemorate the dead of the First World War. Watermead Country Park is a network of lakes woodlands and nature reserves created from 340 acres of gravel workings along the River Soar to the north of the city. The park has fine lake views and woodland walks with good paths and picnic areas. The parks provide bird watching, fishing and watersports facilities and so more.
