Burrs Country Park lies on the River Irwell covering an area of 36 hectares of scenic countryside, one mile north west of Bury town centre. Burrs has been awarded a Green Flag. The park owes part of its existence to Bury's industrial past and Burrs was one of area's earliest mill sites, many remnants of which still exist today. Burrs is also home to some of the most impressive works on the ever-evolving Irwell Sculpture Trail, which runs from Salford to the West Pennine Moors.

Platt Fields Park is a large public park in Fallowfield, Manchester, England which is home to Platt Hall. Fallowfield lies to the south and Wilmslow Road runs along its eastern edge. The centrepiece of the park is a large pleasure lake, which is used for boating and fishing. The lake has an island sanctuary in the middle, as well as a lakeside visitors' centre and a boathouse. There are gardens of different kinds, including community orchard gardens, which contain ferns, roses and heathers.
