The Novacella abbey, is an Augustinian abbey in Novacella, a hamlet of Varna, near Bressanone in the autonomous province of Bolzano. It is one of the most important abbeys in northern Italy and the Alpine Arch consisting of a complex of religious and civil buildings. In May 1956 Pope Pius XII elevated it to the dignity of a minor basilica.
