The Lake Suviana is an artificial lake located in the ' Bologna Apennines, formed following the construction of a dam high 91.5 meters, started in 1928, and completed in 1932. The basin is mainly fed by the eastern Limentra stream and is located entirely in the metropolitan city of Bologna. The two banks bathe the municipality of Camugnano to the east and the municipality of Castel di Casio to the west. The villages of Suviana, Badi, Bargi, and Stagno overlook the lake.

The Marecchia is a river of ' Northern Italy and gives its name to' namesake valley. The Marecchia is the ancient Ariminus which gave its name to Rimini. To date, its short stretch of plain and its mouth are conventionally used to mark the end of the Po Valley and the whole of northern Italy. The river originates in the municipality of Badia Tedalda in Tuscany from Alpe Della Luna, near the locality of Pratieghi on the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines.

The regional park of the Po Delta of Emilia-Romagna is a protected natural area established in 1988 of about 54,000 hectares located in the Emilia-Romagna region. The Po Delta park has the largest extension of protected wetlands in Italy. The flora is extremely varied and includes about a thousand different species. The presence of birds and of truffles is also interesting, especially in correspondence with the cordons of fossil dunes.

The Scaffaiolo Lake is a lake mountain situated in the territory of the municipality of Fanano in Modena Province, in the high Modena Apennines. Its name seems to derive from scaffa , a presumably Lombard term that seems to mean a depression in the ground.
