Devil's Island

Devil's Island is the third-largest island of the Salvation's Islands, an island group in the Atlantic Ocean. Devil's Island was notorious for being used for the internal exile of French political prisoners, with the most famous being Captain Alfred Dreyfus. The islands are mostly overgrown jungle which is slowly covering the remnants of an infamous French penal colony — where over 60,000 men were incarcerated and less than 2,000 survived.

Îles du Connétable

The Island of the Grand Constable is located 18 km off the mouth of the Approuague, in French Guiana. Together with the island of the Petit Connétable, it forms the national nature reserve of the Île du Grand Connétable. It is made up of two islands: the Grand Constable and the Petit Constable. The island is an isolated rocky site, and the waters surrounding it are home to rich marine life such as green turtles and giant groupers.
