The Grande Traversée du Jura is a 400-kilometer long-distance hiking trail in the Jura. The path runs from Mandeure in a south-westerly direction. However, there are several variants, and some of the routes also lead to neighboring Switzerland. The trail was opened in 2003 and is not considered to be particularly technically demanding. The infrastructure includes several shelters and the option of being accompanied by donkeys as pack animals.
The Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park is a mountain territory that covers the highest peaks of the Jura chain which was located on the borders of the two regions Franche-Comté and Rhône-Alpes. The park covers an area of 165,000 hectares of greenery and it offers a wide range of flora and fauna. Trekking is possible and the park welcomes you to the natural beauty of France and also it is a natural habitat for a wide range of wildlife also.
