Plaine Morte is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It overlooks the large and flat glacier named Plaine Morte Glacier, from the south-west side. It is part of the Crans-Montana ski area and can be easily accessed by a cable car via Les Violettes. Pollux is a mountain in the Pennine Alps on the border between Valais, Switzerland, and the Aosta Valley in Italy. It is the lower of a pair of twin peaks, the other being Castor, named after the Gemini twins of Roman mythology. Pollux' peak is at an elevation of 4,092 m. It is separated from Castor by a pass at 3,847 m. One of the adventurous trekking destinations in this area. The first ascent was by Jules Jacot from Geneva with guides Josef-Marie Perren and Peter Taugwalder on August 1, 1864

The Täschhorn is a mountain in the Pennine Alps in Switzerland, lying south of the Dom within the Mischabel range. The first ascent of the mountain was by John Llewelyn Davies and J. W. Val d'Hérens is an alpine valley in the Valais canton of Switzerland. It was formed by the Hérens glacier, which retreated at the end of the last ice age. It is now the valley of the Borgne river, a tributary of the Rhone. It extends from the Rhône valley to a number of high mountains - Dent Blanche, Dent d'Hérens, Mont Collon, Mont Blanc de Cheilon. It is a popular start point for mountain expeditions.

Val Ferret is the name of the two separate valleys, departing from the Col Ferret on the border between Italy and Switzerland, on the southern and eastern sides of the Mont Blanc Massif. The Swiss valley drains northeastwards towards Orsières and on into the Rhône basin; whereas the Italian valley drains southwestwards towards Courmayeur and on into the Po basin. The Wildstrubel Glacier is a 2.3 km long valley glacier in the Bernese and Valaisan Alps. The glacier ends at about 2,550 m above sea level, forms the source of the Lämmerenbach which flows to the lake Daubensee near the Gemmi Pass. Wildstrubel has three summits, that are nearly of same elevation. The summits are connected by a bent ridge of length about 3.5 km, which invites for a traverse.
