The canton is located in the northeast of Switzerland. The mountains of the canton include part of a thrust fault that was declared a geologic UNESCO world heritage site, under the name Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona, in 2008.
Arbon Castle is a former castle and now the Historisches Museum Arbon located in the municipality of Arbon of the Canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The oldest part of the current castle is a 13th-century, originally free-standing, residential tower. It was one of the main tourist attractions in this area.
