The Gäbris is an elevation in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and with its 1247 m represents the northernmost Swiss foothills of the Alps. Due to its exhaust location in the middle of the Appenzell hilly landscape, it is known as a beautiful panoramic mountain and a destination for numerous hikers and bikers. The Gasthaus Oberer Gäbris is located near the summit.

Säntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein massif of northeastern Switzerland. It is also the culminating point of the whole Appenzell Alps, between Lake Walen and Lake Constance. The panorama from the summit is spectacular. Six countries can be seen if the weather allows: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, and Italy.
