Bessang Pass Natural Park

A large protected area which was located in the heart of Ilocos Sur. There is also a memorial which commemorates the victory on 14 June 1945 by Filipino soldiers serving the U.S. Army Forces in the Philippines Northern Luzon over the Imperial Japanese Army. The park contains pine forests as well as mossy type forests. The park is also the habitat of 29 bird species, 5 mammals, and reptiles such as the monitor lizard and different species of snakes.

La Mesa Ecopark

La Mesa Ecopark is a wild jungle carved into a forested recreation park in 2004. Inside, the park features towering trees, botanical gardens, camping grounds, educational facilities, and several sports activities. It is open for walking, running, birdwatching, and for other activities.

La Mesa Nature Reserve

La Mesa Nature Reserve is called the lungs of Metro Manila because it absorbs around 3% of the total carbon emission of the metropolis. The reserve is home to La Mesa Dam, Metro Manila’s main source of drinking water. It offers activities such as trekking, trail running, mountain biking , birdwatching, tree walking , and tree planting and so more.

The park includes some of the island’s well-known protected natural landmarks and landscapes like the Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park, Calbiga Caves Protected Landscape, Taft Forest Wildlife Sanctuary, Jicontol Watershed Forest Reserve and Bulosao Watershed Forest Reserve. It is now one of the renowned places of natural beauty in this area. A lot of tourists visit this place every year.
