Hot springs have been reported and a lake occupies one crater. There have been two small eruptions in 1641 and 1897. It is also the second-highest point in Sulu. The mountain and adjacent lands were declared as Mount Dajo National Park in 1938.

Hibok-hibok is a stratovolcano and makes the island of Camiguin, about 12 miles north of Mindanao. The summit is covered with loose ejecta and four small craters are nearby. Sulfur was mined at one of the craters prior to 1948. The other craters contain lakes. Hibok-Hibok has erupted five times in modern history. It is a popular hiking destination in Camiguin island. Kalatungan volcano is the second-highest volcano in the Philippines and located 47 km east of Lake Lana on Mindanao Island. The dominantly basaltic volcano forms a broad E-W trending ridge. The Kan-irag Nature Park is a watershed and nature park in the uplands of Cebu City, Philippines that opened in the mid-2000s. It was once a bald mountain, but due to reforestation with native trees, the area became a functioning watershed. It is home to about 27 native bird species, such as the emerald dove, Asian glossy starling, the collared kingfisher, the black-naped oriole, and the olive-backed sunbird.
