Bridges to Explore in Canton of Bern
Kornhausbrücke Bridge crosses the Aare River and connects the historical center with the more modern section of the city. It was built from 1895 - 1898, and the engineers were Paul Simon and Theodore Bell. This bridge was named in honor of Kornhaus Bernese, the Duke of Kornhausplatz.
Nydeggbrücke is a bridge that connects the old part of town to the new and is considered a Swiss Heritage Site crossing over the Aare River. The Nydeggbrücke is in total 190 meters long and took three years to build. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
