A public library located in the city of Jaffna, it is considered as one of the most important and historical places in Jaffna. In 2001 the library was restored after it was burned in 1981. At that time it was the largest library in Asia containing over 97,000 books. The building's classical lines and beautiful proportions make it stand out architecturally.
