Monuments to explore in Mon State
Mon State is blessed with several places of tourist interest. There are several pagodas, out of which the Win Sein Taw Ya Pagoda is a remarkable place where we can see the world's largest reclining Buddha statue.
Located at one end of the infamous Thai-Burma Railway, Thanbyuzayat Cemetery is the final resting place of those who died on the northern section of the railway, between Moulmein and Nieke in Myanmar. This war cemetery lies at the foot of the hills which separate the Union of Myanmar from Thailand.
