Mein-ma-hla-kyun Wildlife Reserve

Mein-ma-hla Kyun Wildlife Sanctuary is a wetland reserve in Lower Myanmar. It is located in Bogale Township in Ayeyarwady Division. Mein-ma-hla means beautiful women in Burmese, as the island is linked to a local Burmese myth. The wetland reserve is located on Mein-ma-hla island and is classified as a mangrove ecosystem reserve. The reserve occupies an area of 52.79sqmi and was established in 1986. The protected area has a total of 29 mangrove tree species and saltwater crocodiles.
