Banaue rice terraces, a system of irrigated rice terraces in the mountains of north-central Luzon, Philippines, that were created more than 2,000 years ago by the Ifugao people. Although located in several villages, they are collectively known as the Banaue rice terraces. In 1995 various sections of the terraces were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, described as “a living cultural landscape of unparalleled beauty.”

One of the architectural wonders in this area is the Magat Dam is a large rock-fill dam on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The dam is located on Magat River, a major tributary of the Cagayan River. Constructed in 1983, Magat Dam is one of the largest dams in the Philippines and has two primary purposes: as a source of irrigation water and as a provider of hydroelectric power. Nowadays a lot of tourists have been visiting this area.

While the historic terraces cover an extensive area, the inscribed property consists of five clusters of the most intact and impressive terraces.
