Fortynine Palms Oasis is a three-mile, out and back trail located in Joshua Tree National Park in California, with a 300-foot elevation gain in both directions. The trail starts at Fortynine Palms Parking Area, goes up and over a ridge dotted with barrel cacti, and descends to a palm oasis in a rocky canyon.The oasis is frequently used as a watering hole for bighorn sheep.

Glen Helen Regional Park is a county park located in San Bernardino, located at the base of the chaparral covered hills of the Cajon Pass with scenic views of both the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains. It is also home to the Glen Helen Amphitheater, the largest outdoor amphitheater in the United States. The park also hosts several off-road races since 1985.

The National Wildlife Refuge System is a series of lands and waters owned and managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Wildlife conservation is at the heart of the refuge system. It is a birding hotspot with 318 bird species relying on the diverse habitat.

Heaps Peak Arboretum has a diverse collection of mostly native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and other plants. It was Located on State Highway 18 west of the community of Skyforest. The star of the trail is a planted grove of sequoiadendron giganteum, or what us non-Latin speakers call giant sequoias. Sequoia Trail offers insights on other trees, like quaking aspen, incense cedar, dogwoods, firs, and several varieties of pine.

The Hi-View Nature Trail is a 1.3-mile loop hike in the Black Rock area. The hike ascends 400 feet of elevation gain and reaches a high point with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Along the trail, you will see large Joshua trees, pinyon pine, and juniper trees. This area of the park tends to be slightly cooler and less busy than other areas of the park.

The Ice House Canyon is a popular day hike with a trail head just north of Mount Baldy Village. The trail is not to strenuous, but if you are hiking in the winter, snow and Ice is a factor.The winding trail begins in a shady canyon passing remnants of old recreation cabins as it heads towards Ice House Canyon Saddle.

It is located in the Mojave Desert within the National Park Service Mojave National Preserve, on Kelso Cima Road at the junction of Kelbaker Road in Kelso, California, between Baker and Interstate 15 to the north and Interstate 40 to the south. Kimberly Crest House & Gardens is a 6-¼ acre estate in Redlands, CA featuring a Victorian Chateau and Italian Renaissance styled gardens.The property is a registered California Historical Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The three-story Victorian mansion was designed in the Châteauesque style by Oliver Perry Dennis and Lyman Farwell. The gardens that surround Kimberly Crest are exquisite examples of the Italian style.

Lake Gregory stands amid a cool cedar and pine forest in the San Bernardino Mountains. The lake and the surrounding area make up the Lake Gregory Regional Park adjacent to Crestline, California. Today, the Lake Gregory Recreational Park with swimming and water slides is at the west end of the lake and a walking trail encircles the lake. The south shore of the lake is a popular fishing destination. The regional park is the site of Crestline's Independence Day celebration.

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is a museum and research facility dedicated to Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. It focused on America’s 16th president and the war waged under his tenure to preserve our Union. The original building was a one-room octagon with a limestone exterior inscribed with quotes from Lincoln. Mitchell Caverns is three solution limestone caves, only two of which are open to the public. It was created primarily by the dissolution of sedimentary limestone and metamorphised limestone by ground water high in carbonic acid content. The "Tecopa" and "El Pakiva" caves are connected by a man-made tunnel and are open to guided tours led by California State Park rangers. These caves are the only limestone caves in the California State Park system.

This is an arid rain-shadow desert and the driest desert in North America. Its boundaries are generally noted by the presence of Joshua trees, which are native only to the Mojave Desert and are considered an indicator species.
