Joseph D. Grant County Park

This majestic10,882 acre park includes some of the County's finest open space resources, as well as rich environmental, cultural and recreational assets. The landscape is characteristic of the east foothills of the Santa Clara Valley with grasslands and majestic oak trees. As part of the park's tradition and history, cattle grazing currently takes place in some areas, and is monitored under a resource management plan.

This is a 156-acre city park in San Jose, California. The Leininger Center, just south of Happy Hollow, is the central location where citizens apply for city park permits and reservations. "Monte Bello" means "beautiful mountain" in Italian, and refers to Black Mountain which is the highest part of Montebello Ridge.

With 26 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, dog walking, biking and horseback riding, the varied landscape offers visitors views of serpentine grasslands, rocky and steep chaparral, dense stands of bay trees.

New Almaden, is a historic community and former mercury mine in the Capitancillos Hills of San Jose, California. It presents visitors with an interesting array of exhibits about the history of mercury mining and the lifestyles of mining communities. A mine diorama duplicates the interior of a mine shaft, giving visitors a feel for working underground. Other exhibits explain the changing technology of how the liquid mercury was extracted from mined cinnabar ore.
