2 Hindu Temples to Explore in Anuppur

This is the place where the river Narmada Descends from Heaven with the permission of Lord Shiva. A temple named Narmada Udgam is located at the source of the river and this temple is one of the ancient temples that hold a distinguished position in the history of the Hindu religion.

The temple itself is built as a 3D projection of the Sri Yantra / Sri Chakra which forms the core of the Sri Vidya worship in Hinduism. The most prominent feature of this temple is the huge sculpture with 4 heads at the entrance. The heads represent the faces of Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati, Kali&Bhuvaneshwari.
