2 Hindu Temples to explore in Anuppur
Anuppur District is an administrative district in the Shahdol Division of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. It is mostly hilly and forested.
This is the place where the river Narmada Descends from Heaven with the permission of Lord Shiva. A temple named Narmada Udgam is located at the source of the river and this temple is one of the ancient temples that hold a distinguished position in the history of the Hindu religion.
The temple itself is built as a 3D projection of the Sri Yantra / Sri Chakra which forms the core of the Sri Vidya worship in Hinduism. The most prominent feature of this temple is the huge sculpture with 4 heads at the entrance. The heads represent the faces of Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati, Kali&Bhuvaneshwari.
